With TLC: Talking Listening Connecting, parents learn to: find solutions to problems based on their own values; help reluctant children begin to communicate; model constructive behavior for their children; respond empathetically to emotional issues; and teach children persistence in solving problems. Using dialogue, multiple-choice questions (what parent hasn't had their child respond, "I don't know," when asked "What's the matter?"), and a user-friendly, empowering tone, Talking Listening Connecting offers a compelling, reassuring message--parents themselves can learn to help their children solve problems themselves--without the aid of therapists.
