About this Item
Card has only very light, general aging. ; B&W Illustrations; Oblong 48mo 3½" - 4" tall; 1 pages; Around 1980, Howard Finster produced a number of different post cards to promote himself and his works. The original mock-ups of these cards are quite valuable. This is not one of those. This is one of the printed cards that he produced from the originals and then sold or gave away in his studio at Paradise Garden. This card shows a scene by Finster with printing that advertises Jeffrey and Jane Camp's American Folk Art Company in Tappahannock, Virginia. The Camps were two of the earliest dealers and collectors to discover Howard. This card probably dates from the 1970's. Bottom left reads "Worlds Strange Art, Howard Finster." On the back, stamped in blue ink, is Howard's name and address. Seller Inventory # 11530
