All edges marbled. 191,127,186, and 162 pages, with a title page for each of the works, in addition to the general title. The first work, more fully entitled On the Improvement of Society by the Diffusion of Knowledge: An illustration of the advantages which would result from a more general dissemination of rational and scientific information among all ranks deals with Davy s Safety Lamp, using pneumatics to make more efficient chimneys, and many other practical applications of scientific knowledge, with illustrations of experiments and devices.
