Antique print, titled: 'Astrakan.' - View of the city of Astrakan. From "Cornelis de Bruins - Reizens over Moskovie door Persie en Indie .". View of the city of Astrakan. Engraving on laid paper. Made by an anonymous engraver after 'Cornelis de Bruyn'. Cornelis de Bruyn (1652-1727) was a painter and traveller. He made two extensive trips of which he published two famous books. Fair, given age. Ample margins. Original folds as issued and some folding near folds. Small tears in lower margin. Traces of use, platelines strenghtened. Some foxing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. The overall size is ca. 67.5 x 40 cm. The image size is ca. 63.3 x 21.5 cm.
