Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. This is a UK hardcover published by Ward Lock, date unknown. The photos show the condition better than I can describe, however overall I am grading as Near Fine / Near Fine because it's a beautiful copy. The dust jacket is complete and in overall intact condition. It is bright and unfaded but rubbed to the top corner tips and again at the bottom and there is a small closed tear at the top of the spine. The jacket is unclipped and states 2'6 net. The book has a straight spine, sharp corners and firm spine ends. The boards are clean and bright but the page edges toned. The inside board has a pupil form prize dated July 1948 pasted down. The interior text block is clean and all 48 colour illustrations are present and intact. There is no evidence of a printing history but given the form prize label, this makes me think the book is a 1940s reprint - although the comparable copies online state circa 1920s as the publication date.
