    Condition: Good. 1934. No edition remarks. 704 pages. No dust jacket. Green cloth. Contains black and white photographic plates. Clean pages with mild tanning and foxing throughout. Tightly bound with mild thumb-marking throughout. Previous owner's inscription to front endpaper. Boards have light edge wear with minor corner bumping. Mild crushing to spine, with occasional markings overall. Books has a backward lean.

Colour frontis showing three desserts, and 3 other coloured plates showing prepared dishes; 24 numbered B&W plates. There are over two thousand recipes, which, according to the introduction, "have been simplified without producing confusion, and in every case is given the correct weight and measure, the exact time ofr preparing each dish, the number of persons the recipe is to provide for, and. the name of the dishes in French". The recipes are French-based with ingredients in British measure. A very good collection of recipes dating from the 1930s with a chapter on game, as well as on curry; the meat pies and recipes for puddings seem quite good. There are 44 recipes for eggs and omelets alone. Here is the chef's method for killing lobster: :run a skewer or sharp knife into the spinal cord at the joint between the body and the tail shells.or tie the claws together and plunge it head first into a pan of absolutely boiling water." No markings, a bit of very light foxing to the endpapers, tight copy with minimal rubbing to corner tips and edges, about VG; no Dj. First Edition (2.8 JM HOQ 101/0 Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
