The rear inside board is clean but there is a small tape mark to the middle top. Dust wrapper/ There is loss to the top of the back cover, spine and the front cover. This has been repaired from the back with white paper.The bottom of the spine has loss too and the bottom of the front cover has a 2cmx 2cm chip with a 3cm closed tear attached. There are tiny chips to the bottom of the back cover. This too has been repaired from the back with white paper. The front cover front flap hinge has a tear 7cm. Not price cut. The rear of the front flap has a name inscribed.

Five Go Off to Camp 1948 first printing in 19 parts in Sunny Stories nos 426-444 (19/03/48-26/11/48), all but 4 or 5 preceding the book publication of October 1948, so true first printings, and all with different illustrations by Eileen Soper to those in the book, plus many other favourite Blyton characters, 435 is G/VG; 430,431 and 442 are VG (430,443 with competition coloured); all others VG+, the 19.

The front and rear boards have fade marks to the edges. The top and bottom of the spine are faded too. The front inside board has an inscription. The end papers and rear inside board are clean and bright. Th text block is foxed but this has not spread to the internal pages, which are all clean and bright. The binding is tight. Dust wrapper/ The front cover has a closed tear to the top edge 2cm. The top edge is rubbed. the four corners have chips. The bottom left hand chip has a 3cm closed tear attached. The top of the spine has loss 2cm deep, affecting the Five in the title. The bottom of the spine has some loss 1/2 cm deep not affecting the publisher stamp. The back cover has chips to all four corners and there is a closed tear 1cm to the top edge, that has been taped on the reverse. The front flap top edge is curled with a 1/2 cm closed tear. The front and rear flap hinges are rubbed. Not price cut. The reverse of the wrapper is clean and complete.

One of many modern re-editions of Blyton's Famous Five novels, this book is attractive for its large format and numerous colour photographs and b/w illustrations. Based around a 1970s TV series. The book is fine with no marks or inscriptions and everything else as it should be. Jacket I s very good with just a little wrinkling to top edge.
