The book is in very good condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. The slightly toned end papers and pages are free from tears and inscriptions save an owner's name and date and six pages where there are some previous owner's annotations to recipes. The red tint to the top edge is retained with tanning to the other edges. The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in good condition with losses around the edges and more to the top of the spine now nicely offset by a second dj set underneath the original. Elizabeth David's early books are very collectible and decent first impressions have become hard to find. Will be dispatched fully insured well wrapped in bubblewrap and a book box.
