Good hardback without a jacket. Blue cloth boards have some bumping, with dulling down to spine. Bookseller's stamp to ffep. Some tanning and foxing to pages. Binding firm. 384 pages with illustrations and 12 b&w plates (all present and in very good condition). The author and his companion, Richard Matthews, both New Zealanders, set out in Emily, the Baby Austin, in May 1930 with the idea of travelling 'eastward from Sydney, always eastward when possible, until we should reach our starting-point again'.
