Hardcover. Condition: G/G-. Subscription Edition. A curio, as will be explained. Lovely red cloth boards w/tooled gilt titles and gilt and black borders, some soiling, rubbing to extremities, spine sunned, bubbling to rear board, gilt edges, cracked hinges front and rear, waterstain rear end papers, five pages of frontis illustrations on heavy card paper of nerves of the eye, diagrams of bandages, encephalon of the brain, etc, also frontis engraving of Sir Wm Ferguson. Oddly, the page numbering following the title page begins with p577, dealing with vomiting, and it comes in in the middle of a sentence, though there is no indication of any missing pages, so we can only presume the book was misbound, pagination runs from p577-p880, and the book also ends mid-sentence. Grading commensurate with age of book. Dispatched from the UK same or next working day.

Plates, some photographic or in colour, including those with overlays, index. Large 8vo orig. maroon cloth gilt, rubbed, botton corners of covers slight affected by damp, a.e.g. JISC gives the authors as the Physician and Surgeons at London Hospitals.

Cloth Bound. Condition: Very Good. Subscribers' edition. A very good copy of the subscription edition of 1883, complete in three volumes. Handsome original binding of red, bevelled edge cloth boards with gilt titles and decoration, in very good, tight, clean condition. Texts all in very good, tight, clean condition with no inscriptions. All page edges brightly gilt. Illustrated with excellent tissue-guarded, tinted, engraved plates. An excellent set.
