Antique early 19th century atlas map with original hand colouring; Drawn & engraved by Robert Scott for John Thomson's "New General Atlas" (Published in 1817. Engraved in 1814; this date is marked on the map). 62.0 x 51.5cm, 24.25 x 20.25 inches; this is a folding map. Condition: Good. Minor offsetting -text and/or images from the facing page have left an impression on the print. Please contact us if you would like to arrange to view this map. There is nothing printed on the reverse side, which is plain. The map shows the Italian states largely as they had been prior to the French Revolution. Inset in the top right hand corner is a map of Elba, the island to which Napoleon had been exiled in 1814, three years prior to the publication of this map. Seller Inventory # P-8-002531
